NEW UPDATES! In Memorial, Tracey Warren, 1963-2008. On January 3rd, 2008, my wife of 15 years died suddenly and unexpectly of a heart condition of which we were unaware. It is a tragic loss. We are getting through this with the help of family and friends. She was a beautiful person who cared deeply about the world in which we live. I will love and miss her forever.

I just got back from Madison, Wisconsin where I was shooting segments for Down the Road, the rural lifestyles show. It was a good shoot and special thanks goes to Doc Sanders for buying the best steak I've had in over a decade. A tasty filet mignon at Smokey House.

I've gone High Def!!! My brand spankin' new JVC HD110 just arrived and I'm ready to shoot HD. I've got some projects planned including some new Indie Film Tech Tips.

Recently I wrapped shooting a project for Aspect Ratio which is a tribute to a LA theatre figure. The project features the likes of Julie Haggerty-Kagan, Dom Deloise and Stephen Tobolowsky. I'd like to thank my crew especially Stan Eng, my gaffer, who went above and beyond the call of duty by helping line up crew and gear. (The photo below is courtesy of Mr. Eng.)

"Plaguers" is nearing the end of post-production and I can't wait to see the final feature. Thanks to the cast and crew!

In memoriam, Paul K. Spears, my father, passed away December 2, 2006 at age 87. He was a kind man who never fully understood what I liked about making movies, but he never failed to support me.
